Replacing Rick Perry

The 2014 Texas Governor's election is right around the corner.  Which corner do you  stand in?  The Republican candidate, Greg Abbott launched his campaign with one of the most controversial musicians in the State of Texas.  A musician who's background and public pronouncement of sex with underage girls didn't go over very well with Republicans or Democrats.  I guess Sex, Drugs and Rock n Roll  still rules the world because Mr Abbott is up 9 points in the polls only weeks before voting begins.  The Democratic candidate, Windy Davis has a  high hill to climb in a State who has not elected a Democrat to the State's highest office in  over twenty years.   After a spirited performance on the floor of the Texas Senate during which time she filibustered eleven hours for women's abortion rights, Mrs Davis's campaign  seems to have set rather than risen.
This race boils down to one thing "Prioritized Insiders vs Ordinary Texans".  In a State who's electorate has leaned to the right for some time I don't think a champion is going to come from the left corner this election bout.  Upsets do happen but  there's  never going to be  another Rocky Balboa movie, especially one staring  Rocky Balboa wearing a blonde wig much less Rocky running North on Congress Ave and up the South steps of the Texas State Capital.
