George Mason must be wearing glass slippers

Everytime about this time of year much of the country drops whatever it's doing to watch the NCAA Basketball Tournament. Suddenly it seems that politics, protest and righteous are not spoken of, just a lot of basketball talk. Everyone seems to be rooting for a different team with enough passion to start a fight. I really don't care who wins the tournament just as long as it is not Duke. I used to feel the same way about Indiana but now Indiana's ex coach is the coach for Texas Tech and I like that team, guess it's a Texas thing.
Everything we believed to be true about college basketball has been rendered false. Up is down, the earth is flat, the sun rises in the west and Americas team is George Mason. The Big East is supposed to be the best basketball conference in the land, yet they have no team in the final four. The Big Ten is supposed to be the second best conference yet they did not even get a team to the sweet sixteen. Make way for the glass slippers, Cinderella is about to walk onto the court. A 11 seed from the Colonial Athletic Association is in the final four. I have no clue who belongs to the Colonical Athletic Association or even where it is. The Patriots of George Mason got one fewer preseason poll votes than Hawaii, Houston or Notre Dame which is to say no points at all. Neither of those three teams were even invited to the tournament. If George Mason walks off with the nets of the RCA Dome it will be a miracle. That's the impact of chance and circumstance upon the big dance. It produces heroes you could not imagine, stories you could never dream up and sometimes challenges everything you believed to be true.
