Shotgun Wedding

June is the most popular month for weddings. Hopefully the Democrats don't feel the need for one of the shotgun variety. I don't think it matters very much who Obama's running mate is because the Republicans don't have a Snowball's chance in Hell of winning in November. Barack will win the presidency with or with out Hillary by his side. She would carry way to much baggage into the marriage, mainly her husband Bill. That baggage alone should be enough to make Mr Obama run from the Clinton train wreck.
Six months ago the Democrats saw a marriage of gender and race as an ideal ticket only they had it backwards thinking it would be a Clinton-Obama ticket.
The Democrats should be paying more attention to who's holding the shotgun rather than concentrating on who's going to be the VP candidate. There is little enthusiasm inside the Obama camp to give the Clintons even a second billing. After all Hillary validated right wing attacks against Barack's patriotism, questioned his readiness to be commander in chief and played the race and gender card against him. Barack Obama was bright enough to capture the Democratic presidential nomination, I hope he's not dumb enough to offer Hillary the VP spot.
Whether the Democrats chose a conventional or shotgun wedding makes little difference but an Obama-Clinton marriage would end in disaster sooner or later. In a marriage, the partner that bolts out the exit door the fastest is always predicated on which come first, the 30 pound weight gain or that inevitable "you son of a bitch"
