Getting Past Trivialities

Things are becoming more instantaneous in an era when delays and exceptions are rampant and increasing. No delay, No aggravation, No hassle, Pain free, Our way, and the Right way! We want it all and we want it now. We place a premium on efficiency and convenience with any tiny annoyance or inconvenience fouling our moods and affecting our behavior. Instant gratification is becoming the standard expectation. No one in today's world is satisfied until they get what they think they deserve and when the buffet of opportunities never materialize, they get peeved. What we really have is a culture that has increasingly emphasized feeling good about their self rather than favoring the feelings of the group.
I am as guilty as the next person when it comes to wearing the Entitlement Crown. I'll accept the fact that human narcissism is here to stay, it make me feel better as I crown myself. That feeling of being special is in every soul. Believing in your self and anything you want to be sounds kind of corny but it feeds the soul.
It all comes down to perspective and expectations. When something goes wrong for others it's their fault but when something goes wrong for us it's not our fault. We should all stop projecting blame every time our expectations are not met but that is hard to do. Getting past all of life's trivialities so one can take off the Crown of Entitlement incurs taking the larger view of life and asking your self " Am I really entitled to anything" The answer us usually no!
