There is something in the air that makes our mornings cooler and allows us to open our windows at night. We have reached that time of year again, Fall is right on schedule. The changing of seasons between Summer and Winter is where anything goes as far as the weather is concerned. Nothing is for certain in this gray area! The spikes and drops in temperatures will confuse most of us. Do we put away our shorts and flip flops or do we see if we can still fit into last years jeans and sweaters? I myself am still in denial and cling to summer as long as I can. Holding off at least a month before I pull out the jeans and long sleeve shirts is always a last ditch strategy I use every year.
If I had my way the Fall equinox would start on October 31st. I don't even begin to think about Fall until I see pumpkins stacked high and on October 31st pumpkins are at their peak. There is no question that Fall is my most favorite time of year but deep down I know where it's heading, Winter is on it's way. I will embrace that extra spring in my step which can be attributed to the cooler weather and turn on the Television to watch Fall football.
Like snakes shedding their skins and bears looking for a cave to hibernate in, humans might as well embrace the inevitable. Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter are unstoppable. Soon we will be changing our clocks, putting an extra blanket on the bed and it will be getting dark before we get home every evening. Everybody will anticipate the arrival of the first Arctic cold front and wonder where all those 100 degree days went. The cycle always continues but for the next few months I am going to enjoy my most favorite time of year and hug a pumpkin every chance I get!
I love the pic of you in the pumpkins....
