Prize Patrol

I am sure that all of us at one time or another have had dreams of the Publisher's Clearing House Van pulling up in our driveway. The dream always continues with the Prize Patrol jumping out with a camera, balloons and a over sized check for one million dollars while we looked surprised standing at the door in our PJs and bathrobe. In my case I don't know who would be more surprised, me or the Prize Patrol because I sleep nude and it would take me a week to find my bathrobe. I don't know about you but every time I've won something it's always been a surprise. Now I do not want you to think I am Mr Lucky because the times I've won anything are slim and none but I am still surprised when and if I ever do win a prize. A prize is a prize no matter what it is.
President Obama's recent Nobel Peace Prize was a surprise to many but not to me. He was awarded the prize for promise rather than achievement. He is still the same man a lot of us celebrated last November.
He is still the Obama of Hope so it's no surprise the Peace Prize Committee felt the same way and awarded him the Peace Prize. The Committee chose Obama because he stands firm in addressing the threat of Global Warming, for trying to rid the world of nuclear war and for attempting to achieve a global peace. Rarely has a person captured the world's attention and given not only America but all of the human race a hope for a better world.
The awarding of this prize should be a very proud day for America. After eight embarrassing and unrepentant years of reckless cowboy arrogance maybe the United States is finally beginning to return to respectability and perhaps even greatness. The political and racial winds have shifted but we are still a very long way from a harmonious planet.
There will always be people who can't get beyond last November. People who will try to make something ugly and partisan out of Obama's prize. Those sore losing crybabies who are mean spirited in the comments will always chastise someone who sees into the future because these crybabies can't see past their own nose. Obama's award was not just a recognition for him but for every human on Earth. If the award does only one thing, that of bringing support for Obama's causes it will have served it's purpose. These are unusual times and we need all the encouragement we can get if the planet is ever to become peaceful and harmonious.

Good message, and this is a good case of where the message is lost when people are trying to attack the messenger, regardless of the message. i love peace and harmony, and all that good stuff, and in the buff might be TMI, but it adds a personal touch. Take care.

I apologize for any confusion for my inaccurate wording. I was trying to convey that people attack Obama, regardless of what he is saying, and then I went on to my next thought, which addressed a previous remark, which might have created the confusion. I love, peace, love, joy, clarity, and all that good stuff.
