False Idols

True heroes are far and few between so it's no wonder everyone desperately wants one. We all want to believe in someone whether it's a politician, an athlete, a business genius or anyone that makes it to the top of their game. Yet when we find our heroes to be as weak and fallible as ourselves we are quick to turn on them with vengeance. Feeling betrayed we seem to enjoy knocking heroes down to our level, dragging them through the mud as the vengeance bandwagon runs over them. Soon the idol title disappears from their name tag and we realize they are just as ordinary as we are. I am no different from anyone else when it comes to jumping on the vengeance bandwagon. I've given up trying to deny that such a ride on that wagon is compelling but paying attention to such unfolding stories leaves me feeling a little disappointed in myself. I am not proud of rushing for a seat on the wagon of corrupted morality but then again I'll never be a poster child for moral fiber so why not grab a seat?
Being the liberal that I am I'll set just about anywhere but I won't grab or condone the seat of adultery! Adultery is what brought down the latest Entertainment Tonight idol although crashing his SUV into a tree in his front yard didn't help matters any.
If the truth ever comes out, I still think his wife was chasing him out the driveway while swinging a golf club through the SUV's rear window. Sex can destroy the best of heroes faster than kryptonight can destroy Superman. The only difference between Tiger Woods and Superman is that Superman can fly over trees instead of running into them like Tiger did.
Adultery is really about power and satisfaction of conquest. Low self esteem is always at the heart of any such moral fallacies so we need to stop worshiping all those so called heroes who will not or can not admit to themselves they have a problem. Heroes take their pants off just like we all do but I've never committed adultery with or without my pants. Lust is a whole different matter. I've already told you I'll never be a poster child for moral fiber so please don't jump on the bandwagon and try your best to run me over. If your able to drive your bandwagon around me I'll promise you I'll never run into one of the trees in your yard!

I agree whole heartily. If i wanna play around then i wouldn't get married. If i was married i wouldn't want to play around. Its sad to see that our heroes have feet of clay, alas so do i. Trying to project an image is as hard as trying to live up to the image, maybe only the Great Unknown can actually do both.

When someone is in a committed relationship....they are to be true to that person!!!! This is the way I feel and could never cheat on my spouse!!!!!!!!!It goes against everything I believe!
