That's just spinach! I was fixing to make a salad

A Willie Update: On Sept.18 2006, Willie Nelson's bus was stopped by the La. State Police. A couple of weeks after Willie's bust I wrote a blog about the Willie salad fixings fiasco. The salad is long gone but yesterday Willie finally came clean and plead guilty to misdemeanor marijuana possession. Willie was spared jail time, fined $1,024 and put on probation for six months. Willie signed autographs and shakes a few hands at the court house. I wonder if that had anything to do with State District Judge Paul deMahy dismissing the charges against Willie's sister and the two bus drivers that were on Willie's bus.



Willie has been busted once again. This time he had a pound and a half of marijuana and some psychedelic mushrooms. Hell! that's just breakfast for Willie Nelson. Mabe Willie should put a spice rack on his bus. He could put the weed into the oregano and basil jars and the mushrooms in with the garlic pieces. The next time Barney Fife entered Willie's bus, Willie could invite Fife to dinner and everybody would be happy.
Don't the Louisiana State Police have something better to do than messing with a 72 year old hippie? The police said they stopped Willie's bus based on probable cause. What cause is that, that it contained Willie Nelson? Until we win World War Three and crush the evildoers that our president calls a struggle for civilization, all law enforcement people should have to work on that and not busting Willie Nelson. I guess Barney Fife didn't see that Willie had his stash in a heart shaped tin can. That should have been a tip off that Willie was no evildoer.
I don't think all of this bothered Willie too much. He and his entourage probably used the misdemeanor citation to roll up a joint with the stash the cops did not find! No one has ever had much success trying to mess with Willie. Oh! the IRS did Willie a little damage but after time Willie even came out on top of that one.
If Willie Nelson lives another 15 years and it looks like he will, the odds of him getting busted again are pretty good. I just hope he is not on Snoop Dog's bus the next time it happens. There won't be any get out of jail misdemeanor citation. Everybody will be tied up with Snoop Dog's gold chains and driven straight to prison
Willie is a lucky man and luck always rides with a good hearted person. He was probably standing next to the Tin Man when the Wizard of Oz passed out hearts. Little did the Wizard know, Willie would keep pot in his. Things could have been much worse for Willie. If that had been a bag of spinach on the hood of the police car instead of marijuana, Willie's luck would have ran out and everybody on the bus would be dead.
