Sooner or later disaster strikes

I don't think anyone really expected the Texas Longhorns to win another national title given the loss of Vince Young, but to finish the regular season with two straight losses and a lose at home to a team of GI Joe's from a paramilitary school was a disaster. As a Longhorn fan I find myself standing in the bread line wondering how a season that once held so much promise turned so quickly into bread and water.
Texas Memorial Stadium is getting the last of a 178 million dollar make over. The north end zone where I used to set and watch the Longhorns for $5 a game is being demolished. Just as well, I don't think the Longhorns were worth $5 this year. We're off to the Alamo Bowl, what a great way to start the off season. If Texas wins so what but most of us want a W to fill the big fat void of nothingness where our orange heart used to be. To be honest I don't know much about our Alamo Bowl opponent the Iowa Hawkeyes and I plan on staying blissfully ignorant until the kick off on the 30th.
I am just relieved we are not playing the game in Texas Memorial stadium. The Hawkeyes would be able to drive a Mack truck through the empty space where the north end zone one stood and knock out out starting quarter back who ever he is.
I don't want to have to say " What the hell" when I see the stretcher wheeled onto the field. Oh! that's right we are already in HELL.
