Thanksgiving 2011

The weather has started to change, getting colder some days.  If you have not already experienced a freeze in November you likely soon will.  The first freeze in the Austin Hill Country usually arrives around November 15th.  It looks as though this winter will bring a warm weather rebound cycle that will last the entire winter.  We will have short periods of freezing temperatures followed by temperatures in the high 70's and low 80's. over and over all winter long.  Oh yes, we live in Texas!
Also this time of year we give thanks to the Lord for all his goodness.  Most of us usually set down to dinner or lunch with family and friends on Thanksgiving day.  We begin the meal with prayer, remembering all the things we have to be grateful  for.  None of us should have to think very hard to come up with such a list.
Will the temperature be freezing on Thanksgiving day, I don't know. Will I have reasons for being grateful, you bet I will.  That list seems to grow longer each year.  I look forward to Thanksgiving for all kinds of reasons but the time for reflections that the day brings is my most favorite and I hope yours also.
