Fairness Opportunity and Hope

     The contest for the Presidency  is in full swing with wedge issues forming everyday.  These symbolic issues will define who is on who's side but character and core values will really be the determining factor as to who lives in the White House come January 2013.

     Whether or not you like President Obama's policies and decisions it's hard not to say he is a decisive President with solid principles.  He is certainly not a flip flopper  who flips with the direction of the current political wind.  Odds have always been against him.  An American black president, did any one really think that was possible?  The decision to save the American automobile industry, the odds were stacked against him.  The decision on universal health care and his steadfast refusal to capitulate  when it seemed certain the health care bill was doomed in Congress, the odds were against him.  The passage of Wall Street and Banking reform when everyone knows you can't win a fight against  Big Money, odds were against him.  Say what you want about President Obama but his determination during the toughest economic  and political environment the world has seen since the Great Depression.  has only solidified his character and core values.

     The choice before America is whether society will be responsible for it's future or will society's selfishness become it's highest value with core values only a disguise?  Will government  defend privilege or will government give everyone a fair shot, an equal share and a guarantee that everyone has to play by the same rules?  Fairness, opportunity and hope will never come from someone who's core values is based on financial success.  It will come from someone who's character and core values are based on determination to go against the odds when fairness, opportunity and hope for all are at stake.
