Cowboys Longhorns and Sooners

     In a matter of fifteen days the University of Texas football team has two daunting task.  Pulling out a win against either Oklahoma State or the University of Oklahoma would at best be a miracle.  Both contest are away games for the Longhorns making a victory that much harder to achieve.  Even though the University of Texas has three wins and no losses this year, the team comes into Saturday's game as an underdog but you won't hear any Longhorn repeat that.
     The Horns don't have Colt McCoy and Jordan Shipley on the roster this year so the prospects of a BCS Bowl is only a dream for the current Longhorn team.  It's only the beginning of October but the respect of a 3 and 0 record is losing momentum faster than I can say Hook en Horns.  Wins over the Cowboys or Sooners is wishful thinking but as every Longhorn fan knows a victory  over either Oklahoma team would be a huge boost.  Where as a loss against either team causes heart wrenching sorrow and shame that usually last a full year.
     Texas has always had an unjustified inflated sense of importance which makes both Oklahoma teams hate the Lone Star State's premier University that much more.  Regardless of all the spirit that comes along with a 3 and 0 record, wins against lonely Wyoming, New Mexico State and Ole Miss don't establish a pattern that will hold up for the remainder of the season.  I wish the Longhorns the best of luck in their games against both Oklahoma teams  but the Horns will need more than luck if they want to lasso a Cowboy or drive the Sooner's wagon.
