Every Thanksgiving for as long as I can remember I've watched the University of Texas and the University of Texas A&M play each other in football. The Longhorn-Aggie match up was usually preceded by a Dallas Cowboy football game during which time our family feasted on a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Between games I would usually ramble back into the kitchen for several helpings of dessert while keeping an eye on the television. This routine was as much a part of Thanksgiving as making the trip to my parent's house each Thanksgivings day. For the last 118 year the football game between the Longhorns and Aggies has taken place every Thanksgiving day but nothing last forever. I am sad to see such a grand tradition come to a close. Even if you don't have a hate-love relationship for either team you'll have to admit that losing a treasured football game is a great loss. I guess one could argue, it's only a game so why all the fuss over it's cancellation but that argument won't hold water for myself. People will still say Hook'en and Gig'em on Thanksgiving but that desert between the games on Turkey Day will never taste the same
