I Remember That

Only in our memories is probably the greatness most of us subscribe to.  Memories form an important part of who we are.  Conversations with family and friends turn into shared experiences that sometimes bring back memories fond and not so fond.  Memories are more valuable than any possession we own and for that reason we do our best to remember them.  Although our memories can be fickle and even a complete fabrication at times we deem them valuable just the same.  I will confess to the fact of memory manipulation for the purpose of a grandiose  recollection.  There is no real explanation for this other than the mind is more creative of possibilities that might have happened vs things that really happened.  Throughout time, confidence in our memories remain constant but our stories become less and less consistent.  All of us are from time to time  guilty of misremembering  but in the end it does not matter very much.  It simply make a story that much better.
