Are you an Early Bird who wakes up at the same time every morning and seems to feel most active between 9AM and 6PM? Maybe you're a Night Owl who gets most of their work done once the sun goes down. Whichever direction your biological clock runs there are huge differences between the Early Bird and the Night Owl. Personally I am an early lark, wanting to complete my day's activity by 4:30PM.
Sometimes it feels like my body clock was made by Timex because most mornings I naturally wake up within 10 minutes of the same time every morning. Getting older has had no effect on my biological clock, I've always felt more mentally and physically capable between the hours of 9AM and 6PM. We have all heard "the early bird gets the worm". Starting my day by 9AM after a 7 hour sleep seems to instill an optimistic attitude which propels me mentally and physically towards the end of the work day. Much less than 6 hours of sleep time and there is a 50-50 chance I'll wake up on the wrong side of the bed. On those "wrong side of the bed days" I have to force myself through the paces, counting every hour. There are positive things to be said for the Early Bird and the Night Owl. I'm just glad the Early Bird perched on my head at birth.
I go to bed about 11pm and up at 3am. I do this 7 days per week. I don't take any naps in between. I do not require much sleep! Took after my momma in the sleep dept.
