The Only Apple I'll Ever Buy Is One I Can Eat
The newest iPhones were announced this week. Seems like everywhere you look you can see some one using an iPhone and most of those people will gush with praise of their phone when ask. The truth be known, most of those iPhone owners could get by with a couple of cans, a line of string and a disposable Kodak camera stuffed into their pocket. They think they need every bell and whistle available to man so they spend $650-$850 for an iPhone. No, they say "I only paid $200 for my iPhone". Those people don't want to admit they had to sign a two year $2600 plus fees and tax contract, really making the cost of their iPhone cost $3000 not $200. As Forrest Gump would sayMost smart phones do the same thing, browse the web, run apps, email, video and of course talk. You don't need to pay $3000 for those features but for all the people who think they do, maybe you need to hear from Mr Gump one more timeI could go on and on but you get the ideal, People can get by just fine with out the "WOW" factor of an iPhone, any smart phone will do. Apple's new iPhone 5S is not much of an improvement, costing the same as the previous model. Apple's new iPhone 5C is suppose to be the company's low cost model. The 5C is priced at $99 but it is attached to one of those 2 year contracts making the phone really costing $2800. If you put the 5C on a no contract cheaper carrier the price of the phone is $550 up front. Anyone who pays $550 for a plastic phone is crazy. Apple thinks the $99 5C will go over big in China but they are wrong. Off contract the plastic 5C will go for $730 in China. My smart phone listed for $150, with discounts the phone cost me $90. Two years of a no contract service cost $840. I will not make you watch another Forrest Gump video but Stupid Is As Stupid Does, $930 vs $3000 is a no-brainer. Let me be clear, I'm not saying people need to stop buying iPhones, I'm saying we have reached a point where most smart phones are the same. Apples are not the only fruit in the world and the money men of the Wall Street know that. Apple's stock price lost $30 the day Apple made their product announcement this week. There is always a bad apple in every barrel but this barrel is full of bad apples.
