Seems like I am always getting rolls of quarters to feed the washing machine and dryer. Being a one person household the laundry should be no big deal but for some reason i always seem to have more laundry to do than my neighbors. In my small little neighborhood of about twenty five households we all use the same coin laundry. Living real close to the laundry building I see neighbors toting cloths in and out of the laundry building all the time. The neighbors who are single have small amount of cloths to wash and dry while I always seem to have three or four loads of clothes every trip.
What does all this say about me? Am I a clean freak? Don't tell me my neighbors wear the same underwear and socks for several days while I change mine every day! There is bound to be a reason for my mountains of laundry and all those rolls of quarters but I have not figured it out yet. Don't know why I'm complaining about this problem. If the only things in life to worry about are underwear and socks, life is pretty sweet.

Underwear and socks are kind of like family. Underwear covers your ass just as your family does. Underwear sits with you during times of pain and joy just as your family does. Underwear is reliable and dependable but can be a little annoying sometimes just as family members can be. But I could not imagine going through life without either. Socks on the other hand always seem to be disappearing just like family members, now you see them now you don't. But like family members, socks feel useless if they
can't eventually find one another.
What does laundry really say about life? Looking at all those piles of laundry I see my life, a little tattered but fairly clean. It's the story of my life, the fabric of my life I see in those piles of laundry. So the next time I complain about rolls and rolls of quarters I'll remember to be a little more grateful that I put on clean underwear and a pair of socks each and every morning.
