One Foot In Front Of The Other

April 6 was National Walking Day.  One can get active in many ways and walking is one of the easiest forms of exercise.  It does not cost anything and is usually pretty safe.  Walking has many benefits, number one being it's ability  at fighting heart disease.  Walking is also good at fighting diabetes, weight gain, high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels.  It has also improved  my mental health and increases my energy stamina.
On days I leave the house I walk anywhere from 2 to 10 miles and probably average 10 miles a week.  Every year around this time my feet tell me it's time for a new pair of walking shoes.  This year I choose a pair of New Balance.  They are the most expensive walking shoes I've ever bought but they came with a big discount so I'm not complaining.  Along with the high price they are for sure the best quality walking shoes I've ever bought.
On a recent Saturday I walked 9.1 miles in downtown Austin going from one SXSW event to the next SXSW event and on that day my feet told me it was time for a new pair of walking shoes.  If your feet are talking to you it's probably time for a new pair of shoes.  When your ready to get started with a fitness routine all you need to remember is simply put one foot in front of the other.
