Another massacre with an AR15 assault rifle. One would think the NRA's mindset on assault weapons like the AR15 would change after the fourth such massacre but I'm not holding my breath for that to happen.
50 people killed in Orlando last week by a man who should have never been allowed to buy such a killing machine. What a tragedy we witnessed last week. Why anyone thinks a killing machine like an AR15 should be allowed in public hands is beyond me. Even worse the NRA won't even agree to banning the milti round clips that go into those killing machines. My guess is that some members of the NRA would be willing to compromise on the question of who and what should be restricted but the vast majority of MRA members are die hard supporters of no restrictions of any type. Any hope of both sides coming together on the restriction of certain guns and ammo is a pipe dream and will have to be decided by the next full Supreme Court. The next president will appoint several justices. If the Democrats win the presidency and I think they will, the next full court will hear the gun case. The court will give local governments the power the restrict guns in the cities and there will not be anything the NRA or the many Republican controlled State governments can do about it. Change takes time and in the case of a future assault weapons ban, a long time. Thousand of unneeded death has not changed a thing but change in on the way.
