Crock-Pot

Crock-Pots can make preparing meals easy ether by a long slow cooking process or a fast and simple cooking process. Whether it's 30 minutes or 10 hours it's up to you.  A few ingredients thrown into a Crock-Pot will turn out a great meal.  The best part is that the meal is usually very inexpensive.  Are the meals from the Crock-Pot healthy?  Well there is no frying involved or the oil that goes along with frying so Crock-Pot cooking is relative healthy.  At least it won't clog up your arteries as much.
I probably use my Crock-Pot the most to cook pinto beans.  Throw the pre soaked beans in the Crock-Pot and cook on high for five hours and they are done.  Soups, stews, cheap cuts of meat and other so called peasant foods are a Crock-Pot's claim to fame.  If you have not used one of the cookers in a while it might be time to get cooking.  This week I used the Crock-Pot for a couple of fast and very easy recipes.  Next week I'll use the Crock-Pot for a more traditional half a day cooking  of a half a dozen boneless pork top loin chop steaks.

  1. Glad to see you're back on your blog!!! I love my crockpot and use it often. I have different sizes big ones medium ones and little ones so if I just want to cook a small batch of beans I can do it without getting the big one out.
