Liberal Boomer

Walking to the edge of a cliff with someone and following that person over the cliff are two different things. I'll stand with Obama but I won't jump with him. Even if he promises to ram a far left agenda just as Bush rammed a far right agenda, I still will not jump.
Yes I am a Liberal Boomer! I grew up opposing Nixon, the Vietnam War and have always wanted equal treatment for women and blacks while always siding with the oppressed and poor. I was listening to Dylan and Hendrix as I learned to question authority unlike my counter parts who learned how to function in a well defined conservative hierarchy. Over time I learned I can not stay in an ideological comfort zone if I want to stand at the edge of the cliff and stare into America's future.
It's not getting any easier for Liberal Boomers because America has gotten down right ugly the last couple of months. History is filled with ugliness that always seems to stink until we learn how to clean it from our shoes. America thought it stunk when Franklin Roosevelt tried to establish Social Security and when Lyndon Johnson tried to launch Medicare but where would America be without either of those two programs? I'll tell you where. In a lot of deep shit! One thing about shit, it stinks just the same whether it's on liberal shoes or conservative shoes. Whether your a conservative living on the right or a liberal living on the left like myself, everyone is going to step in a little of it every once in a while no matter how correct and straight you think your path is. It's best to clean it off your shoes so you don't foul the air for every one else. Remember this! America should always stand for the common good not the good of the uncommon few. Change comes from the bottom up not the top down.
