Tea for Two

Anger is in the political air. The expression of the populist's anger is driving todays politics and that is the reason the Tea Party has destroyed the Democrat's super majority in the Senate. The Tea Party is not a fake and needs to be taken seriously. They are not an arm of Fox news as some would lead us to believe and I don't think it's the less educated vs the educated elites although there seems to be some credence to the latter.
Some of the Party's planks can be tolerated as building material even though most of the Tea Party people I know are racist, sexist and only care about themselves. They all hate big government, Wall Street, the poor, the oppressed and could give a rat's ass about their fellow man. I can't reside myself to accept any of those views yet competition is always good for every system so I don't want them to become invisible. Frankly we would all be stupid to join them but I think they are good for America's political system.
As I looked around the table at the Presidents Health Care Summit, it looked like one side was drinking pure tea and the other side was drinking some kind of organic concoction. Both sides of the table said their drink was the best and that everybody should be drinking their brand. Really what I saw was a bunch of fat, overweight white guys who all had a really good health care plan that is paid fully by the US government. Oh, there was one black man in the middle but everybody else was fat, over weight and white. Things will never change! There will always be a bunch of suits like these getting what they want and then hashing out what to do with the rest of us. Those old over weight guys will always decide how to the slice the pie after they get their piece. I guess I am not really much different because if there is ever another revolution I'll probably make sure I've got plenty of tea leaves stashed away before I pitch the rest of the tea into the harbor. Revolution or not the only kind of tea I want anything to do with comes in a tall glass filled with ice cubes.
