A tiger lost in the woods

Anyone who has tried to deal with addiction is familiar with the twelve step manual for recovering addicts. Step nine is one of the most important steps for self healing. "Make direct amends to such people whenever possible except when to do so would injure them or others". Admitting to cheating, irresponsibility, unfaithfulness and other wrong doings can certainly be a requirement of step nine. Tiger Wood's atonement to these transgressions was his attempt at step nine. I just hope it was not the eulogy for his funeral. If he was only trying to bury the old Tiger and let a new Tiger be born, well let's just say he should not be passing out cigars anytime soon.
I saw a broken man. A man who was uncomfortable and one who at times lashed out at others as to soften his indiscretions. We have all seen this kind of man before. Whether it is an athlete failing a drug test, a Hollywood celebrity arrested for DUI or a crying minister admitting to a sexual scandal, they all stand on step nine to find their way out of the woods. At the end of the day we are all human and humans make mistakes. A successful step nine can help one find their way out of the woods but only when there is a willingness to admit to not being able to see the forest for the trees.
Tiger Woods was always so confident and cool. Every time he stood over a long putt with a million dollars on the line you knew he was going to sink that putt. When he came from behind to win the US Open while playing with a torn knee ligament and a double stress fracture in his tibia, it proved to me he was the greatest golfer of all times but even a tiger can get lost.
Will the tiger find his way out of the woods? For his sake, his family and friends sakes I hope he does but you know what they say about tigers "Tigers never change their stripes"! One day your a tiger then next day your the prey. All it takes is a loss of concentration and a slight step off of the straight and narrow path and even a tiger can become lost in the woods.

You are so correct when you said...Tigers never change their stripes or better said......Once a sorry ass cheater, always a cheater. Mr. Golf Club Tiger owes me no apology, he needs to talk to his wife and I hope his wife never lets him back in the house!

Go get em Tiger!... well, maybe not, don't 'get them', but admit your mistakes and amend behavior (like make sure if you tell your wife you will be faithful, be faithful). And people can change, sometimes for the worse, sometimes for the better, as it depends who or what (the Universe, or nothing) does the changing.
