Rage of the Fringe

There seems to be a growing pattern of violent rhetoric, racially charged imagery and paranoid conspiracy emerging in today's politics. These hateful acts don't seem to be isolated incidents. The fear mongering and coded racism has long been a characteristic of one political party, which over time has instilled bigotry and hate among its radical supporters.
Most of the time I ignore the mainstream antics coming from either of the parties fringe boundaries. I consider such spew more of an embarrassment and nuisance than something to be taken seriously but it's getting harder and harder to drown out the racial slurs, homophobic rants and the verbal discontent for the President, Congress and health care reform. These philosophies make no sense at all. They each defy basic Christian principles yet the fringe of such radicalism vehemently claim to be Christians. How can they hold their heads up in church with such self centered hatred attached?
America deserves much better! No matter which party occupies the White House we should all support civil, honest and respectful public debate and denounce ravings coming from the fringe. Society should never tolerate such boundaries, Jesus didn't!
