In a few days Old Glory will be everywhere one looks. Many communities will celebrate the Fourth of July with a parade. The American flag will ride on everything from bicycles to backpacks. There will be cars filled with local officials, marching bands playing the Star Spangled Banner, beauty queens on floats, military service men in a formation of movement and children with small flags walking parade routes all over America. Most Americans will clap and cheer for the Nation's birthday. Some parades will be smaller than others and some parades will be canceled because of the weather but America's celebration on the Fourth will be as big as ever.
The holiday is much more lasting than the fabric of Old Glory. We should always remember " We the People" is a privilege not a right and wave the flag in the wind every day not just when a parade passes by.
