It's for You

There are a lot of things we all consider necessities. Air conditioning, automobiles, television, phones and many more are all modern day givens we feel we would be hard pressed to do without. One of the most annoying has to be the cell phone. Even though we need the communication capabilities it gives us, the cell phone can be extremely interrupting when it goes off in a location where etiquette predicates it's silence. Almost everyone owns one of these ringing modern day necessities. I wished as many people knew where their phone's silent button is located and used the button more often. If you carry a phone in your pocket you should pay for and use a text and email plan so I don't have to listen to your stupid ring tones. If you cant' find your phones silence button then you should be banned from owning a cell phone and if you fail to put your phone on silence when etiquette calls for it you should be fined an amount equal to one month of your cell contract!
Using cell phones for text, e mail and web browsing is becoming more popular than using the phone for talking. When I do make a call on the phone I tend to keep the conversations short. It doesn't take long to become addictive to a phone. When I have mine in my pocket I almost feel like a heroin addict in a poppy field, checking it often and sampling everything it puts in front of me.
Until the demands and tools of friendship change, our relationship with other humans will be regulated by the strength of our cell signal or by the amount of characters we are allowed to cram into a text message. Text and e mail used to be a generation thing but not anymore. Almost every phone now has that capacity but there are still people out there who can't chew gum and walk at the same time. I guess we will always need tin cans and string so that some people can at least walk and talk at the same time. OK, I'll admit I tend to talk endlessly and sometime get carried away when I think I know the subject well but then again I love chocolate and sex. Both of which always causes my legs to wobble and my brain to become dazed and confused when I come across an exquisite piece. Get my drift! Come to think of it maybe I need a tin can and string instead of the $600 smart phone I own. At least I could talk, eat chocolate and engage in sex all at the same time if all I had to worry about is the length of my string. Get my drift.
Words are just that, words and talk is just that, talk! There will always be people who argue which are the most beautiful words in the English language. I've already mentioned chocolate and sex but the words "I love you" and "Honey you were right" are just as beautiful. But I can still remember when there was only one phone in the house and the most beautiful words one could hear is "It's for you"
