I've Seen This Movie One Too Many Times

A political  rerun is about to began.  Do you have your popcorn ready, it's going to be a thriller.  The political party that caused the worst economy since the Great Depression, the party that led the United States into war with Iraq and followed through with the worst foreign policy in America's history, the party that would if allowed carve up Social Security and take a knife to Medicare  is back in control  of the House of Representatives.  Oh well, at least this version of the disaster will not be staring Dick Cheney.  We won't have to listen to him as he tries to convince the audience of  Iraq's weapons of mass destruction that were written out of the script before the movie was even made.  If I did not know better I would say this movie stars Ronald Reagan.  Reagan ran the deficit up and tried to balance it on the backs of the poor.  In time, the party coming to power will do the same thing all over again with their blessing of tax breaks for the rich.
We are going to hear a lot of foolishness over the next two years but the underlining story line will be the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.  Has America forgotten who put the greatest Country on Earth in such a precarious position?  The GOP is betting America has a short memory which it usually does.  The reality is the Republicans are back so no matter how long the poor and middle class holds their finger on the fast forward button, all of America will be forced to watch a rerun of this disaster movie several times.
