Sleep, Sleep, Sleep! Do we ever get enough of the stuff? Sleep is very important yet the only time we really give it a second thought is when we want that extra ten minutes in the morning. The scientific reports say a human needs seven to ten hours of sleep every day but I don't know anyone who gets that much sleep. I myself get about six and a half hours of sleep each night and usually feel good the next day. If I get 7 and a half hours of sleep I usually feel like a million dollars. Doesn't seem like an extra hour would make any difference but it sure does for me.
It's sure going to be tuff on all the sleepy heads this weekend because daylight savings time starts which means there is no way around losing an hour of sleep. The time change in the Spring is always more difficult than in the Fall. Spring forward is a term used to help us remember how to set our clocks correctly but that term is really a misnomer. Sure, we move the clock hands forward but the change doesn't put a spring in our step. The term fall back we use for the Fall change makes more sense because we can fall back into bed for an extra hour.
It would be much better if the time stayed the same all year, no loss in the spring nor no gain in the Fall. The mandatory change does not really effect me very much anyway and never really has. When it's 100 plus degrees like it is during most Texas Summers, the hour of daylight one way or the other is just another hour for the temperature to climb even higher. Setting the clocks is usually my biggest distraction and even that is relatively painless although I have to get out the instruction booklet to reset the clock in the automobile. You would think after setting that automobile clock twice a year for the last six years I could complete the task without the booklet. Maybe deep down I really do resent Daylight Savings time. Why else would I not learn how to set the clock in my auto? I can run a computer better than most and am always on time for every thing almost to the point that it's pathetic. Yes that's got to be it, I hate Daylight Savings Time. Maybe I'll wait a few day after the time change before setting the correct time on the automobile clock. If I'm going to get a resentment I want it to be a good one.
Ybb sleeps 3-4 hours per night and sometimes not even that. Ybb does not need anymore than 4 hours per night!
