Looking At A Flag

     The Confederate flag is under attack.  There is no doubt the Confederate flag is directly tied to the Confederate cause of white supremacy.  Anyone who has ever read or studied American history can't dispute that fact.  Such rapid bombardment of all Confederate symbols  has been shocking to say the least.  In a matter of a few days, Confederate flags flying over State Capitals have come down and petitions to remove statues of Confederate heroes have been circulated.  Walmart, Amazon, Sears and other retailers have stopped selling Confederate merchandise. Even the largest flag maker in the United States will stop selling Confederate flags.
    The argument for keeping the flag has always been premised on the unjustifiable fact that   it's merely a symbol, one with out cogitations.  Well it turns out symbols do matter and matter different ways for different people.  Shifting demographics and changing attitude about race  has forever changed America.  Such a change  will not be completed in my lifetime but hopefully humans born today will live in a much different America.  An America were everyone is truly equal not a make believe America where political correctness declares victory and moves on.
