Hidden Agenda : Chickens Are The Real Prize

     American's will soon go to the polls and elect a president for a new four year term. In a campaign that has focused on the economy, health care, immigration and race, it looks like the deciding factor is going to be the selection of a new Supreme Court Justice. The Democrats hoped the selection would not take place till after the presidential election but the Republicans are determined to get it done in the next thirty days.   This will be the third Supreme court Justice the current President has appointed giving the conservative right a huge advantage.   Just a single vacancy on the court could change the dynamics of the divided panel. In recent years the court has decided issues by a 5 to 4 vote. Issues such as abortion rights, free speech, racial issues, school vouchers, criminal law, executive powers, religion, and environment.   Issues all of which effect the future much more than war, terrorism, economy, and health.  Think of the Supreme Court as a small flock of chickens. If all the chickens were conservative the Republicans would make all the chickens stay inside the hen house, they would tell the chickens that they do not have the rights they used to have so the chickens could not go into the yard. The poor birds would become chicken crazy and produce no eggs. If the chickens were all liberals, the Democrats would leave the door to the hen house open and the chickens would stay out in the yard all the time just because they could, once again producing no eggs. If there is one thing I know for sure, you can not make an omelet with out a few eggs. If there is a hidden agenda  it will be the fight over the chickens and their eggs, that's  the real prize of this election
