Sunday is all about pigskin

Two staples of television football, Monday Night football on ABC and the Sunday Night Game on ESPN are no more. The Monday night game now moves to ESPN and the Sunday night games moves to NBC. Legions of NFL fans will have to change their football viewing habits.
Monday Night Football was something I always looked forward to, it was an event that I savored. Starting in September that pleasure is gone. For people like myself who do not have pay television the Monday night game will not be viewable. I guess it is a trade off, losing the game on Monday night but gaining a third game on Sunday. I never liked Mondays anyway, it is my least favorite day of the week. At least now I'll have an excuse not to do anything at all on Sundays because Sundays will only be about the old pigskin, I just hope I won't experience football fatigue on Sundays.
Just who do the networks think they are? They have now trifled with the Football Gods so there could be hell to pay for the NFL's decision. I know the calender will still say Monday and Hank Williams will still kick things off by wondering if we are ready for some football but without being able to see the game, Mondays will be just another day. It would have been much easier for me to live with the NFL screwing around with scheduling if the NFL would have just put ten football fans in a room, given them two cases of beer and told the ten fans to do what they thought right for the masses of fans. At least if the ten fans decision didn't suit me I could blame it on Budweiser! I just hope we get some good games on Sunday night because that's all that will make me forget about not being able to watch Monday Night Football.
