Much Much Worse

I used to think Nixon was the worst President I would ever see in my lifetime. I based that thought on the Republican directed break in at the Watergate office complex. The Watergate Scandal brought down an administration and a President but no one was tortured nor were millions of Americans subject to electronic surveillance of their communication. The current administration and President Bush are in a whole different league. The Bush administration has trampled all over the Legislative, Executive and Judicial Branches but that should surprise no one. The Republicans have broken or ignored laws and the constitution for the past thirty years. They have corrupted the courts with radical conservatives and lined their Republican pockets with the dollars from the common man's gas tank. The Republicans are supposed to stand for fiscal conservatism, meaning they believe in smaller government and balancing the books. Bush has yet to even come close to a balanced budget. All this comes from a party who's guest of honor was Enron! If another Republican King is elected, the Republicans will go even farther than Bush and Nightmare Cheney could have ever hoped to have gone.
On January 30, 2008 the nightmare will finally be over. The Republicans have so abused the laws and embedded so many people with in the system it will take a couple of terms for the Democrats to return the government to the common people. Too many Americans have tuned out and turned off the democratic process yet they know when they are getting screwed. They can't name their Senators or know who the Chief Justice is but I am still optimistic because there are millions of Americans who can answer those questions. I am optimistic because when you give people information they usually do the right thing.
