Water Woes

The drought conditions and continuous high temperatures have taken a toll on the area of Texas I live in.  Most all of Texas has been effected,   The economy nor the environment has escaped the ravages induced by the drought.  We need water in one way or another in every thing we do.  It is the lifeblood of Earth's very existence and when rain does not replenish the water table, a mighty toll on the human and wildlife populations are inevitable.
Of all disasters, drought is the costliest.  From human mental and physical stress to all types of losses, drought can be extremely costly.  The cost to the environment from wildfires sets wildlife back for years.  Yet we think about our lawns not being green or that we will  not be able to use our boats as much.  We use water like we own it when we should be thinking how to use less of it all the time, not only during a drought.
Most droughts are fairly short term but every once in a while one comes along that test our ability to cope with all the long and short term effects that a severe drought brings.  All we can really do during one of these periods is try to convince ourselves that the drought will pass with the next big storm or hurricane   We watch the weather knowing that the destruction for a few will benefit the many.   We just hope we are not the one's who incur the pain that mother nature usually dishes out when she decided to break a server drought.
There will always be water woes from time to time that's just the way Earth is.  Remaining calm, well informed and hydrated are the only things we can do to survive a drought,  everything else really depends on mother nature.
