Sailing One Day at a Time

Science is advancing at a rapid pace but immortality is no closer than it's ever been.  As humans we are not genetically engineered to last forever.  Being no spring chicken at least I have not had to replace any worn out parts and that's a blessing.  My mind seems to be the only stumbling block to longevity I'll likely face in the long tern
Reducing anxiety, stress and depression all help in opening life to possibilities one never thought possible.  When I had a full time job I never realized how trapped I was in the busy-ness of life.  It was always all to easy to sleepwalk through the day, never focusing on what was really happening.  Running on auto pilot was a common occurrence in my life and I'll bet it's the same for a lot of people.  Most of the time being preoccupied with the future or past can be a full time job in itself.  All to often it's all about quantity and not quality   Is it really that important that we have more apples and oranges that the next guy?  The sooner you realize you can only eat  one at a time the better off you and everyone else will be.
True happiness is all about looking at the same thing with different eyes.  Maybe it's because I am getting older but I sure see things a lot different than I used to.  Every day it gets easier and easier to forget about yesterday and not look to tomorrow.  Yes I am aging and there is only so much physically  I can do about that but mentality one day at a time seems to be the fountain of youth.  Who knows, I might see things different when I wake up tomorrow but for today its blue skies and a totally open ocean.
