If your like me your tired of all the political commercials. Hitting the mute button and changing the channel so many times I think I may need a new remote. America has a choice to make on Tuesday, a choice of two contrasting views. Will America choose the economic elite and their trickle down economy or a public investment in the economy based on all the people? Lately that choice has been obstructed by all the personal attacks levied from both political parties. Economic and policy differences seem to be surrounded by "He said They said". It does not take a political professional to figure out why all the name calling is taking place. When you don't have an answer you simply point the finger at the other guy. So why not kick everyone out of the sandbox and look at the differences between the parties then cast our vote.
The Democrats have more registered voters and a better ground game while the Republicans have most of the money which enables them a chance to buy voters and a ground game to match the Democrats. One thing cancels out the other so lets move on the next determining factor. Which are you going to use as your defense, fear or compassion? You either think the sky is falling and try to convince everyone their fixing to get hit in the head or things could be a lot worse and share what you have. We are all forced to believe the economy is the number one factor in this election but I think it will be social issues that in the end be the pivotal point of the United States presidential election. Race, abortion, immigration, religion, sexual orientation, minorities and to some extent the middle class are all headwinds hard to bet against. The Republicans seem to take issue with every one of these groups so unless your one of the 2% or think you might be some day why in the you know what would you ever vote Republican. I know why because you want to push around everyone in the sandbox or at least control who plays with the toys. Every time I've ever stepped into a sandbox it's always been with a step using compassion as my defense not fear as a defense
Both parties make promises but once the elections are over those promises seem to fade. Governing is hard and compromises have to be made. Lets face it, elections are for the many and governance is for the few. Most of us will never have a seat at he table so the candidate we vote for needs to share our views. In my case the most important view is social issues. I am old enough to know the economy goes through predictable cycles. The economy has and will go up and down but no matter where the cycle is at any given moment I've always had a roof over my head and belly full every night. Telling me we are all going to Hell because the economy is terrible will only make me stock up on bottled water and pass that water out to everyone I see not just the 2% who think they own that water .
Vote: Have You? Are You? I have and stayed close to my beliefs by choosing to cast my vote in the most liberal location in Texas, the University of Texas What more can a liberal ask for than flowers and an artistic statue greeting them as they walk into an early voting location. I was in and out in five minutes with my vote recorded for American history. So who's going to win the presidential election? I think Obama will win the popular vote by a margin of 1.8 % and win the electoral college by 60.
