Hangovers

Just because I've not had a hangover in over thirteen years doesn't mean I have forgotten what they are like.  Whether I was alone at home or out with friends it was always round after round whiskey.  Thinking of myself as thrifty, I never saw the need to spend money on fancy whiskey.   Always drinking the bar's  well specials which could probably strip the paint off of an old barn but once I had a few under my belt it really didn't matter.  If you know me you might say I'm cheap but whether it's my definition of thrifty or your definition of cheap, inexpensive whiskey always gave me a brutal headache followed by a terrible hangover.  Just because something is cheap doesn't mean it's bad but in the case of whiskey, it's true.
Drinking any alcoholic beverage in excess can lead to a hangover but an alcoholic never learns and will continue to drink all he or she can get their hands on.  With New Years eve only a few days away, memories of hangovers past seem to be on my mind.  I don't know where I'll be this New Years eve but one thing is certain  I won't be drinking any alcoholic beverages so hangover will remain a memory.
