Baby Boomers

     As a child of the post war I am a member of the Baby Boom Generation.  If you were born between the years of 1946 and 1964 you to are a Boomer.  We may not be the greatest generation but we are certainly the largest.  We seemed to have made greed respectable, buying everything we see and want.  Our self gratification has become an addictive trait we don't want to admit to.  I blame the Boomer selfishness on the 60's when we all did everything our way.  Ever since then we all have been pretty much spoiled rotten, never getting all we think we deserve.

     I used to think Generation X were the entitled ones but no more.  Boomers like myself demand Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid not to mention a new car in the driveway, an IPhone in every pocket, houses of huge proportions and a dozens credit cards to pay for them all.  Yes Boomers are self centered, self interested, self absorbed, self indulgent and self aggrandizing.  I'll claim all those character traits but I won't claim the Vietnam War or disco music.

     One day all the Boomers will be long gone and then the crown of entitlement will be passed to Generation X.  Nothing will change, only the indictment of another generation will begin to be heard..  It's time  Boomers   hear the wake-up call, we may not get everything we think we deserve.
