Manufactured Catastrophe

The Nation's political crisis was only postponed.  The United States Congress will try again to solve the problem in 2014.  Hopefully they won't wreck America's economy during their next try.  It's hard to feel much enthusiasm for a solution to a problem that was a manufactured catastrophe.  The majority of Americans overwhelming blame the manufactured catastrophe on the Republicans.  Not all Republicans deserve blame, only a small group of extremist.  That small group called the T Party faction put a noose around the neck of every American.  The T Party's threat of sabotaging the Nation's economy for nothing more than political leverage should not be forgotten.  Even though their tactic was doomed from the start they went right ahead and threatened to turn America into a Banana Republic.   President Obama stood his ground and with help from most Democrats and a few level headed Republicans, the extremist were defeated.
The T Party's attempt to hijack our democracy probably won't be it's last.  There were no winners in this confrontation, All Americans paid  a price for a tactic that was never going to succeed.  Unless there is a dramatic lessening of partisanship and a move towards problem solving, America will pay a heavy price in the future
Lets take a little time and try getting to the root of this manufactured catastrophe!  A small wing of the Republican party placed it's own party in political limbo and now no one really knows how low the party's ratings will fall.  My guess is "historic lows" and the mid term elections will prove if I am right.
The Republicans should have quit while they were ahead.   The Democrats had already agreed to all the Sequester cuts  but that was not good enough for the T Party.  Republicans decided to hold the Nation hostage over the funding of Obama-care in turn shutting down the government.  Apparently the T Party does not know what the term "quit while your ahead" means.  In my opinion the whole crisis could have been averted if the Speaker of the House John Boehner had did what he was suppose to do, call for a up and down vote..  The votes for averting such a disaster  were there from the start but he placed his job security over the economic  security of the rest of America.
The next time you go to the polls to vote I want you to remember there has only been one party that tried to use a government shutdown and America's potential default  as a way to complete their political wish list.  Here's a clue for your voting day cheat sheet  IT WASN'T THE DEMOCRATS!
