Walking is a popular physical activity for Americans over the age of 55. It seems like common sense that if you walk a lot, you'll be more healthy and be able to control your weight a lot easier. There are a host of Americans that pay no attention to common sense. For most of those Americans, they can't see their feet when they are standing up straight.
I don't walk as much as I used to but I've still got a great set of legs under me and it's not uncommon for those legs to carry me 40-70 city blocks in a day during a visit to Central Austin. Walking has sure helped my cholesterol profile, diabetes and heart disease are nowhere in sight as they for many other adults my age. Tried running but stopped that after a few exhausted attempts. Exercise has to have as many health benefits as it does pleasure and I got no pleasure at all from running. Lazy I am not. Maybe I use the word lazy in the broadest sense but I'm 61 not 31 so what do you expect? I set on my ass more that I used to but can still cover more ground than most 61 year olds and for that matter more ground than many 31 year olds
