I don't know about you but I've had enough of Miley Cyrus. Twerking to her hearts content she has managed to stay front and center in the minds of a lot of Americans but what does her performance say about America's morality? Hyper sexualization seems to always raise moral questions, some good some bad. These are questions the new generation has no time for. Millennials such as Miley Cyrus form their identities from their generation's social environment. Their choices and actions can seem a little distant for someone born after WWII.
Giving credit where credit is do, Miley has certainly re-invented herself. Using her sexuality to stay in the spotlight is fine but allowing herself to be prostituted by the music industry is not OK. Sex sells and the music industry knows it and abuses it every change it gets. The industry tries to hide the fact that they believe profit comes before personality, morality be dammed.
We all have a hard time growing up. Expressing ourselves in self motivated ways follows us through our teen years. It's only natural to look back on those years and pretend all our ways were wholesome but I am certainly not one to cast the first stone. Sometimes my teen years get a little foggy but I'm sure I was rebelling against a repressive system somewhere in the Galaxy. I am also pretty sure I did not shove my butt into someones crotch while millions of people were watching Criticizing Ms Cyrus is neither good or bad for society Being critical of culture only holds us back when we are trying to understand the meaning of acceptance .
