Powerball Dream

If you are reading this I can safely assume you did not win the Powerball jackpot on Wednesday.  The jackpot had risen to 1.6 billion dollars and when the balls stopped jumping, three people had won.  Six numbers, only six numbers sounds so easy and that's one reason millions of people took a chance buying tickets at an incredible rate.  Surly you thought about what you would do if you had one of the winning tickets. Would you have bought a car, house, travel, give to charity, pay off the mortgage , tell your boss to kiss you ass, take care of your family?  You would have probably done all of the above because $1.6 billion is an astounding amount of money.  It would be hard to spend that much money in ten lifetimes much less twenty to thirty years.
Its totality amazing  how large the jackpot rose to before Wednesday's drawing.  After several weeks of drawings without a winner, long lines of people buying their chance of happiness were everywhere you looked.  Lottery Powerball fever is contagious.  The human brain loves reward, pleasure and addiction and the lottery has all three.  My brain is no different especially when it come to the addiction part.  Pretty sure I've got extra gray matter in the addiction section of my brain but for some weird reason I did not purchase any tickets to the $1.6 billion lottery.  I don't know if that says I'm dumb or smart.  Maybe it says I am happy and content just the way things are.
The odds of winning are 1 in 292 million but millions of humans continued digging into their wallets week after week for their chance at happiness because they were sure they were the 1.  There's probably not anyone who has not had a dream of winning the lotto but for all but three people who won the Wednesday night  jackpot. their happiness will remain a Powerball Dream.
