I'm Precious

Not being a pet owner it's hard for me to see how they could ever be considered in the same way a child would but many people feel the opposite.  Sometimes it seem as though every other Facebook posting has some kind of animal in it.  There is no way pets and children are the same except their all cutie in the eyes of the owner or parent.  I've seen  pets with the face of a rat.  Heck I've even seem rats as pats but who couldn't love a pet with the face of Benji.  Either way all pet owners think their pets are precious.  I guess thinking of a pet as a child is totally normal  and even  easier  to see that pet as a family member.
The household pooch has it made these days. When they are not sleeping in their own special bed they are protecting the household as though they were Marshal Wyatt Earp waiting for their next gunfight at the OK Corral.  Generations ago dogs were seen as working animals.  This has changed over time to the point the nuclear family is far removed from working animals.  Today most dogs are seen a companions.  Their owners are willing to spend the same on their pets as they do on their children. Lifestyles play a huge part in the way one feels about a pet. Maybe I've changed my opinion on the matter of pets.  Parenting a dog is not unlike parenting a child.  Dogs die and children grow up.  Either way the precious years fly by so if yo own a pet or have children, enjoy they while you can.

  2. When we were kids our dogs slept in an outdoor un heated storage room during the winter. If they were lucky there was an old quilt for that cold hard concrete floor and a heat lamp for keeping winter at bay. Back then it got real cold, none of that Global Warming crap. So count yourself lucky DOG!!!!
