This Old House
Stuck between a parking garage, the UT Nursing School and the Dell UT Medical School stands a house which is the oldest building on the campus of the University of Texas. The house goes by the name of the Watson House. The house built in 1853 is a two story structure encompassing 1650 square feet. It sets in a grove of overgrown trees and other plants which makes the house almost invisible. It was build for Margaret Bowie, sister-in-law of the Texas Alamo hero Jim Bowie. Someone actually lived in the house until 2009 but the house entered UT's inventory in 1993. The University says it will take about 2 million dollars to restore and have decided to just tear it down at some later date.
