Rice

Cooking rice is pretty straight forward.  So what's with all the electric rice cookers being sold?  These electric cookers have become very popular.  I've always cooked rice on the top of a stove and for the most part the rice has turned out perfect every time.  Even cooking rice in the stove is pretty easy so why would anyone buy an electric cooker that made for one thing only,  cooking rice?  There are people in the world who don't know how to cook rice and I've live with two of them.  They either burned it causing a terrible mess on the bottom of the pan or the rice came out a mushy mess.   It's a good thing I didn't buy those two females an electric rice cooker because if I had I might be married today or at least eating every meal with chopsticks.  Don't know which I fear the most, marriage or electric rice cookers! Some day I might change my mind about  cooking rice on the stove top but I'm sure not getting married.
Rice cookers are pretty fool proof.  With a built in thermostat all one has to do is add rice and water then turn the cooker on.  The cookers are really good for the lazy cook or might I say "the cook who's really no cook at all".  Well you can go ahead and call me a lazy rice cooker because  I bought a rice cooker!  At $9.98 I simply could not pass it up.  Now I see what all the fuss is about, I love the thing.  Looks like my days of cooking rice in a pot on top of the stove are over but I'm still not getting married
