Backyard BBQ seems to be the main event of the day. But while Americans consume all that BBQ, most lose sight of the true meaning of Memorial Day. The day is celebrated for all those who have lost their lives protecting the freedom that comes with being an American. So on this Memorial Day go ahead, eat all the BBQ you want and wave Old Glory but just remember what the Holiday is truly about.
