The Republican led FCC has declared Net Neutrality official dead as of Tuesday. You say you don't know what Net Neutrality is well I'll tell you. It is the principle where all Internet traffic is equal regardless if your searching for something on Google or up dating your Facebook page both of which require very little bandwidth or watching a movie on Netflix or a video on YouTube both of which use lots of bandwidth. Net Neutrality prohibits broadband providers from blocking or slowing down traffic and prohibits them from charging companies for a fast lane if those companies are willing to pay extra.
Repealing Net Neutrality is bad news for consumers. In the near term you probable won't see much change as you use the world wide web or when you pay your Internet provider's bill every month but in the future, let's just say "you broadband provider can do all sorts of unpleasant things". These providers say they won't but I trust them about as far as I can throw them..
