The McDonald Big Mac was first sold in 1967 costing 45 cents.. One year later it was sold for 48 cents at all McDonald's in America. Today a McDonald's Big Mac sells for $3.85 in America. Last week the Big Mac celebrated it's 50th birthday. Almost every one knows what a Bag Mac consist of but I'll refresh your memory. A Big Mac consist of two 1.6 oz beef patties, iceberg lettuce, American cheese, pickles, onions and secret sauce all served in between three sesame seed buns. What's secret sauce, well it is mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, yellow mustard, vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
There are almost 37,000 McDonald's in the world so you probably live fairly close to one of them. Last Wednesday McDonald's gave a McCoin to everyone who bought a Big Mac. McDonald's had 6 million of the McCoins to hand out. The coins can be redeemed for free Big Macs between now and the end of the year. Looks like I'll be getting a free Big Mac sometimes in the next five months. Happy birthday Big Mac.
