Idiot No Con Man Yes

     There have been lots of people who have questioned the President's intellect.  Yes, the President is not the brightest person on this earth  nor does he seem to be engaged some of the time but he is no idiot.  The President's Chief of Staff did not have very kind words for his boss.  The President's former Secretary of State called the President a XXXX moron.  The President's National Security Adviser called him a dope with the brain of a kindergartner.   The President's Chief Economic Adviser called him dumb as poop and an idiot surrounded by clowns.  I am beginning to see a pattern here but I still don't think the President is an idiot.  The President is street savvy, clever and  has a command of the media.  He is the person setting on the bar stool next to you who has all the answers or makes you think he does.  Sometimes that's all it takes to get your way in this world.   Those traits served him well in the business world and got him into the White House.  A President in today's world needs empathy, intellectual humility, depth of policy and an attention span, all of which President has non of.  There is a huge difference between wanting to know and wanting to understand.
     The Democrats don't need to be attacking the President's lack of real intelligence.   Portraying the President as an idiot won't put them in the White House in 2020.  Trump carried 30 states in the last presidential election and could very well do in again in 2020 if the Democrats don't get their game together.   My advice for the Democrats is to treat the President as the con man he is and maybe just maybe you'll be moving back into the White House in 2020
