Vice President

     This is not the first time a woman has been on a presidential ticket.  It happened in 1984, 2008 and 2016.  Each time the ticket lost.  Each time the press focused on their attire, looks and their spouse.  I hope this time will be different.
     Kamala Harris is known for her ambition and assertiveness.  As a black south Asian woman she is sure to fight white supremacy and cheer for under privileged.  She will have to endure racism and sexism from many sides but she is tough enough to handle what ever is thrown at her. 
     Has America made enough progress that the country can put a woman in the White House or will sexist attitudes prevail? At first look she was not my first choice among women in the running for the Democratic Vice President nominee but after a second look, she is probably the best choice.  Kamala Harris is in the right place at the right time.   The bigger question deals with the cart before the horse.  Can she be elected President in four or eight years?  I don't know the answer to that question.
