Daylight Saving Time

On Sunday we moved our time pieces ahead one hour, losing an hour of morning light and gaining an hour of evening light.  Why do we keep doing this year after year?  I don't know about you but I hate it or maybe it just gives me something to complain about.  Yes it gives us an extra hour of light in the evenings but that's the problem.  That extra hour of light messes with my circadian rhythms.  It's the morning light that sets those rhythms so taking away an hour of morning light plays hell with my circadian rhythms, at least for awhile.  This whole time switch thing  is suppose to be about saving energy but with today's 24/7 society it's really about giving us more rec and chore time in the evening.  The powers to be probably won't ever do away with daylight saving time completely.  If they do anything they might make it permanent.  Maybe that's the best my body clock can hope for.
